Wiese & Krohn was founded in 1865 by two Norwegian entrepreneurs and whilst they have long been renowned for their incredible Colheitas (single harvest tawny Ports), they produce a complete range for a small house. So much of this is due to their high quality vineyards: fanastic terroir, aspect, incline and low-yielding vines The Quinta do Retiro Novo estate, an exceptionally fine grade A vineyard in the Rio Torto valley where all vinification takes place. Fladgate Partnership recognised the quality of this small house and purchased it in 2013 to sit alongside Taylor’s, Fonseca and Croft in their portfolio.
