Since 1792, the history of the winery has been forged with passion, dedication and a deep respect for tradition. Eight generations of the Hidalgo family have worked to preserve a legacy that began with the vision of D. José Pantaleón Hidalgo , a man from Santander who saw in southern Spain a promising future for the world of wine. A century later, the figure of a Gypsy woman from Malaga gave a unique twist to their history, taking the name of their winery to the most remote corners of the world. With its charisma and character , La Gitana became the symbol of a brand that represents quality, authenticity and passion for wine. Today, they are still a family winery, with the same spirit of those first generations, but also with an eye on the future.
