The fruit of Beaujolais with the charm of Burgundy! This delicious Morgon offers the complexity, character and depth that demonstrates what excellent value decent Beaujolais are capable of! Produced from ‘Les Charmes’, one of the most prestigious of the six lieux-dits within Morgon, the vines are aged between 35-60 years of age, grown on higher slopes with sandy, granite soils. Strict parcel selection takes place with the fruit harvests into small boxes and sorted via a vibrating table before a traditional Burgundian style of vinification in concreate vats using only the wild yeasts present on the grape skins. The wine is then ages for 6 months a bottles after a light filtration. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a simple Gamay: the wine offers supple tannins with serious fruit concentration and worthy of ageing further.
